About Our Office<p> Modern Dentistry is located in the progressive SOMA / South Beach / Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco. In keeping with the modern standard of the neighborhood, we combine the latest and best in dental technology with gentle, individualized care. Through the use of digital radiography, intraoral video and a streamlined paperless record keeping, we make your visit at Modern Dentistry a pleasant experience. <p> We take x-rays with a digital sensor rather than traditional film. This reduces radiation exposure by 80-90% and eliminates the developing step. There is no need for environmentally hazardous chemicals. <p> In each operatory, there is a computer and two flat-panel monitors. This allows us to better educate through illustrations, x-rays and fiber-optic photos of your mouth. <p> Intraoral cameras This allows the doctor to take and show the patient his/her intraoral images on the chairside computer monitor. <p> During certain procedures, patients can watch a movie to help pass the time while in the dental chair. <p> We streamline our record-keeping process by maintaining patient charts in a fully integrated computer system. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Pacific School of Dentistry. <br> Dr. Thacher continues to expand his practice in the areas of cosmetic dentistry and dental technology through continuing education. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the San Francisco Dental Society. <br> Dr. Thacher is a big Giants fan and follows his Cal Bears in football and basketball.
